Bylton requests that the chancellor be commanded to make the record and process of a suit brought by the king against him and others by which he was ousted from his church of Warton, be brought before the justices of King's Bench and the errors be examined and redress be made to him according to the laws of the land.

The petition is dated to? 1389 on the basis of apparently contradictory entries in the patent rolls of August and November 1389 in the former of which it would seem that the petitioner had exchanged the church of Warton for another living, and in the latter of which the petitioner's estate in the church of Warton is ratified (CPR 1388-92, pp.108, 130).
